Hours before their preseason battle with the New York Giants , the Miami Dolphins released veteran cornerback Nick McCloud, opening up a spot on the 91-man roster.
Then, during the halftime break of the game, Miami claimed cornerback Jai'Onte' McMillan off waivers.
McMillan, 24, played at TCU from 2021-23 and at Minnesota from 2024-25. In 55 games between the schools, he recorded 56 tackles, four passes defensed, one sack and one interception. He signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent but was cut recently.
At 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, McMillan will compete for a roster spot in South Florida for the rest of camp and the preseason.
