We're on to St. Louis. At least, 50 players are.
The FedExCup Playoffs will continue this week with the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club in Missouri. The top 50 in points after the first playoff event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship, earned a spot in the field.
Qualifying for the second of three playoff tournaments is a huge deal as it guarantees players entry into the eight signature events in 2027. It also keeps alive their chances for competing in the $40 million Tour Championship (where even more goodies — like major exemptions — are on offer).
BMW CHAMPIONSHIP PURSE
The BMW has an official $20 million purse with $3.6 million going to the winner and no cut. Last place will earn at least $66,000.
BMW CHAMPIONSHIP BONUS
The PGA Tour will disperse a near $100 million bonus after the second playoff event. With FedExCup points carrying through the regular season and first playoff event, Scottie Scheffler has already secured first place. That will earn him a staggering $23 million bonus ($22 million up front, $1 million deferred).
But there is plenty to play for. Second place will be awarded $12 million (and $1 million deferred). It goes down to Nos. 41-50, who will pick up $50,000 cash and deferments over $225K. Even those who finished 51-125 will earn from $195,000 to $100,000.
