Andreas Christensen has talked up Barcelona’s Champions League hopes ahead of the 2026-27 season and thinks Hansi Flick’s squad is good enough to win the European Cup.
Barcelona have come close in Europe under Flick but are still yet to end their wait to be crowned champions of Europe once again.
Christensen thinks that there is enough quality in Flick’s squad to pick up the Champions League, particularly after seeing so many of his team-mates win the World Cup this summer with Spain .
“We want to win as many titles as possible. The Champions League, of course, is one of those objectives,” he told reporters.
“We have to keep doing what we’re doing and believe in it. We have shown that this is the right path. We just have to polish a few details. We must trust the players we have. Seven or eight of our players have just been proclaimed world champions. We have the squad to achieve it.
“I think we have a good balance. We also have experienced players. We have six players who have played in a World Cup final. Although they are young, they have already lived the greatest experience that exists in football. For me, that’s also experience and it’s a big step forward for Barcelona.
“We are all at the best club in the world and we all have a lot of quality. Competition exists in all positions and that makes us better. The youngsters have arrived with a lot of intensity and with a lot of desire to show their level. The important thing is that they know that they can go to veterans if they need anything. They are doing very well.”
Barcelona made it to the quarter-finals last season before being knocked out by Atletico, while PSG made it back-to-back titles with a victory over Arsenal in the final.
