Most notably, Minnesota brought in Kyler Murray to compete for the starting quarterback job. Now that the dust has settled on the offseason and training camps are beginning, it's time for the national media power rankings.
According to Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports , the Vikings are 17th in the NFL, just ahead of the Carolina Panthers and behind the division rival Green Bay Packers . Here's what Vacchiano had to say:
Team Norway made this the Summer of the Vikings, but let’s face it: Erling Haaland is not walking through that door in Minnesota. It’s only QB Kyler Murray. And everything up north depends on whether Kevin O’Connell can resurrect him.
The entire season hangs in the balance on the shoulders of both Kevin O'Connell and Kyler Murray. Murray is believed to be the starter for 2026, and if he can find his form again, Minnesota should be in the thick of the playoff hunt. However, if his struggles continue, the Vikings could be staring down the barrel of another tumultuous offseason in January.
