See the full story · 1 sourcesFC Cincinnati's Friday, Aug. 7 Leagues Cup match against Pumas UNAM will be delayed by nearly 20 minutes due to lightning in the area. The match, initially set to kick off at 8:10 p.m. ET, was moved back to 8:27 p.m., according to the team.
For over an hour on Friday evening, the TQL Stadium video board advised fans and players to stay away from the field, field-level seats and The Baily fan section because of lightning. As of 7:25 p.m., the board read that the stadium was clear of severe weather.
Friday's Cincinnati Bengals training camp practice at Paycor Stadium was delayed earlier due to severe weather.
This is the second time in a week that an FC Cincinnati match has been delayed due to weather. The team's Aug. 1 game against the San Jose Earthquakes was pushed back over two hours because of lightning.
