The former Wildcats earned the clinching win Wednesday, July 22, at Memorial Coliseum , topping the ex- Cardinals by six points, 63-57, in Game 3.
Now, the group of UK alums prepares for the TBT quarterfinals. They host Boeheim's Army , a Syracuse alumni outfit, today in Lexington.
After vanquishing The Ville, La Familia coach Jon Hood said he'd let his team celebrate until midnight Thursday. Hood also noted Thursday would be a light day for players. He and his staff, on the other hand, would begin game planning for the quarterfinals.
"We're gonna get a bunch of shots up in this gym so that we're comfortable and we're ready," Hood said of lead-up practices. "They'll be ready to go."
The winner between La Familia and Boeheim's Army seals a spot in the semifinals, which doubles as the championship of the "Alumni Bracket." The alumni winner faces the champion of the "Non-Alumni Bracket" for the $2 million prize.
