With the first round of Premier League fixtures now at an end, various publications have released their Team of the Week picks for Matchday 1 of the new season.
In the BBC’s team, Troy Deeney has selected Arsenal summer signing Christos Tzolis for his performance against Coventry City, writing that the winger is a great bit of business, and praising the player for his “calming influence and tenacity”.
Deeney believes Tzolis is like a mix of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli in one player, with “a lot more output than those guys”, and that the Greek international will be “a beast” this year.

Over on the stat websites, Flashscore have selected both Bukayo Saka and Ben White.
On White, Flashscore’s Anthony Paphitis writes that the right-back was a threat with his overlapping runs, ultimately leading to his assist for Martin Odegaard.
As for Saka, Paphitis suggests the winger looks like his old self after his recent injury problems, highlighting the England international’s goal to double Arsenal’s lead on the night.

Then Sofascore have nominated Martin Odegaard for inclusion, with John Toney writing that the Arsenal captain led by example with three shots, three chances created, and 52 of 56 completed passes.
Toney also highlights Odegaard’s work off the ball, including four recoveries and two tackles.
