On Sunday, July 26, Mahomes was seen completing a pass to former Nebraska Cornhuskers standout Emmett Johnson in a video that was posted to the Chiefs' official social media channels.
Johnson — who was selected by Kansas City in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft — figures to be a key part of the Chiefs' offense this season as a member of a backfield that will be spearheaded by Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III.
