Tarik Skubal might have pitched his final game for the Detroit Tigers ahead of the trade deadline, and the Los Angeles Dodgers could just be the ones to get him.
Things are heating up in the MLB, as the trade deadline looms in a few days. There will be a fair few deals that take place before Monday evening rolls around.
Easily the biggest name being discussed in potential trade rumors in none other than two-time Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers.
Skubal is a free agent after this season, and nearly every ball club will want him on their team. But with the Tigers potentially wanting some return for him, it seems one team/Imag is likelier to get him.

Jeff Passan says Dodgers ahead of Braves, Brewers in race to land Tarik Skubal
Many teams have been linked with an interest in Skubal. The Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, and Tampa Bay Rays have all been mentioned in recent weeks.
But MLB insider Jeff Passan recently clarified the situation, claiming that there is almost an expectation he will end up in Los Angeles.
“While everybody is thinking that the Brewers are gonna be in it, the Braves are gonna be in it, they’re all almost resigned to the idea that the Los Angeles Dodgers are going to get Tarik Skubal,” Passan said.
“If you’re the Dodgers, why wouldn’t you? They can afford to give up the types of prospects that Detroit’s gonna want. To me, it’s just a race against the Dodgers at this point.”
The LA Dodgers are the reigning back-to-back World Series champs. Skubal would be another insane addition to their already stacked roster if they manage to pull it off.
Tarik Skubal reaches impressive 1000th strikeout in possible final game for Tigers
As speculation continues to swirl around Skubal, he continues to do what he does best and deal out Ks. In Wednesday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, he reached a huge career landmark.
In the first inning, Skubal struck out Taylor Ward, giving him his 1000th strikeout for his MLB career. The Comerica Park crowd gave him a standing ovation in what was quite the emotional moment.
The 29-year-old is considered by many to be the best pitcher in the league, and he continues to prove why. If the Dodgers land him, it might just be curtains for the rest of the MLB in the postseason once again.
