The Texas Tech basketball team has added another big man to the roster for the 2026-27 season.
The Red Raiders have received a commitment from 6-foot-10 post Bassala Bagayoko, Jonathan Givony reported Friday. a native of Bamako, Mali, who went through the NBA Draft process in the spring. He has played professionally for Bilbao Basket of the Liga ACB.

Bagayoko is set to turn 20 in September and averaged 4.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in 14 minutes per game with ACB and the FIBA Europe Cup.
The big man's addition provides another sizeable body for Grant McCasland's team as he'll join a frontcourt that includes 6-foot-11 LaTrell Hoover and 6-foot-10 Marial Akuentok. The trio will be expected to hold down the fort up front until JT Toppin is cleared to return to competition.
Texas Tech has also brought in transfer Jamichael Stillwell (UCF) and Darrion Williams (NC State), adding to the team's haul in August.
Texas Tech also announced Friday the signing of Amari Barrett, the Millwood High School alum out of Oklahoma City, who committed to the Red Raiders earlier this summer. He will have five years of eligibility.
