Tampa Bay’s 2025 fourth-round pick never played a rookie snap after tearing his ACL last training camp. A year later, Walker has spent nearly every practice living in the backfield – and now he is getting opportunities with the first-team defense.

Walker entered camp fighting for rotational snaps behind Yaya Diaby, first-round pick Rueben Bain Jr. and veteran Al-Quadin Muhammad. Tampa Bay did not build its pass rush assuming a 6-foot-1 former fourth-rounder coming off ACL surgery would save it.

Walker’s game has always been a little strange. He is undersized for a traditional NFL edge, but his power, bend and leverage made him one of the most productive pass rushers in FCS football.
General manager Jason Licht recently put his excitement over Walker on an “even plane” with Bain – remarkable praise considering Tampa just spent a first-round pick on Bain.
