Real Madrid seem to be very close to completing their fifth and the most explosive signing so far this summer as they have already reached an agreement with both Yan Diomande and RB Leipzig for his purchase. The Merengues can officially announce this signing any day now.
However, they had already achieved most of their objectives for this summer even before the transfer window opened, by completing four new signings, i.e., Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Bernardo Silva.
Of these four signings, one, Dumfries, has already joined his teammates in training at Valdebebas . He arrived at the club training ground on Monday, toured the facilities, met his teammates and his coach, and participated in the training session.
Furthermore, as SPORT has reported, he also talked to Real Madrid TV, opening up to the media for the first time after his signing for the Merengue club. The Dutchman expressed his delight at being at the biggest football club in the world:
“After training, I feel good. I’m very happy to get started, and it’s an honour to be here.”
The fullback also opened up on how he has been welcomed at Valdebebas:
“Everyone has welcomed me—the coaching staff, the manager, and my teammates. I feel very much at home.” The defender also highlighted the importance of preseason training:
“This is where the foundations for the season are laid. We have to work hard and get to know each other because there are always new players arriving.” Finally, the new signing assured the fans that he and his teammates will do everything to bring more glory to the Merengue club:
“I’m very proud and happy to be here. We’re going to fight for every objective. It’s an honour to play for Real Madrid, and we’re going to make you proud.” There is no doubt that Denzel Dumfries is a very exciting addition to this Real Madrid team. Although he is not expected to be the starter on the right flank, with this role likely to remain with Trent Alexander-Arnold, his presence will not only provide Jose Mourinho with a different player profile but will also make the right-back position much more competitive.
