Here are the details.
In a new post on the Apple Developer blog, the company announced two rounds of tax and price updates that will be applied to apps and In-App Purchases across several App Store storefronts.
The first, starting today, changes developer proceeds to account for new or updated taxes in three countries:
The second, beginning September 14, will adjust App Store prices in four countries. From the post:
Pricing for apps and In-App Purchases will be updated for Israel, Indonesia, Morocco, and the Republic of the Congo if you haven’t selected one of these storefronts as the base storefront for your app or In‑App Purchase. These updates also consider the VAT introductions listed in the tax updates section above.
If you’ve selected Israel, Indonesia, Morocco, or the Republic of the Congo as the base storefront for your app or In-App Purchase, prices on that storefront won’t change. On other storefronts, prices will be updated to maintain equalization with your chosen base price.
While Apple didn’t detail the specific price changes in its announcement, the company says that the new prices are already available in the Pricing and Availability section of App Store Connect .
Apple adds that “prices won’t change in any region if your In-App Purchase is an auto-renewable subscription,” nor on storefronts where developers manually manage prices instead of using the company’s automated equalized pricing.
The company says these adjustments are part of its routine process for accounting for changes in tax regulations and foreign exchange rates.
