See the full story · 1 sourcesLife moves fast in the NFL. Earlier this week on Monday, the Seattle Seahawks waived fourth year running back Kenny McIntosh. The former Georgia Bulldog began training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list due to an ACL injury suffered last summer. When Seattle waived McIntosh, they did not have a corresponding roster move to fill the position. That is no longer the case.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Seahawks signed rookie wide receiver Kyre Duplessis to the 90-man roster, filling the spot vacated by McIntosh. Duplessis went undrafted during the 2026 NFL draft and initially signed with the Detroit Lions in early June. His brief stint in the Motor City ended almost as fast as it began, as he was waived on June 17th .
Duplessis started his collegiate career with Coastal Carolina and he spent four seasons in Conway, Carolina. In 2025, he joined the University of Delaware. During his time with the Fightin' Blue Hens, Duplessis played in 13 games and hauled in 60 receptions for 824 yards and five touchdowns. These were all career-best numbers for Duplessis.
Now he has an opportunity with the defending Super Bowl LX champions. Despite the star power of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and the veteran presence of Cooper Kupp and Rashid Shaheed, there is an argument to be made the Seahawks could use more help when it comes to wide receiver depth. Duplessis now has a chance to make the case he can be that needed reinforcement.
