Gian Piero Gasperini could finally be on the verge of welcoming a new attacking signing this summer, as reports in Italy claim that Roma and Bologna have reached an agreement over a deal for centre-forward Santiago Castro.
Roma agree deal for Castro with Bologna
According to the latest updates from transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio , Roma and Bologna have agreed a fee for Argentine centre-forward Castro , set at €35m plus a 10% sell-on clause.

Additionally, Roma striker Artem Dovbyk is set to move in the opposite direction on loan with an option to buy, although this is technically a separate transfer and not part of any player-plus-cash exchange.
According to Di Marzio’s report, the fact that Castro was keen to leave Bologna and the fact that Roma were able to offer a temporary solution with Dovbyk were key factors in negotiations between the two sides.
It is a deal that appears to suit all parties, as Bologna have received the fee they were requesting, which also brings a significant capital gain given that Castro cost them just €13.2m from Velez Sarsfield in January 2024.

Roma, meanwhile, finally have the new attacking addition they have been after all summer, having missed out on deals for Mason Greenwood, Crysencio Summerville and Nicolo Tresoldi.
