Kroger Field has been It has been the home for Kentucky football since 1973, and has seen it's share of both good times and hard times for the program. But how does it rank against the other stadiums in the SEC?
USA TODAY recently ranked all 16 stadiums in the conference, and Kroger Field came in at No. 15. Here's what they had to say about it:
All in all, Kroger Field isn’t a bad place to take in a game, and the Wildcats typically punch a bit above their weight class at home. This basketball-crazed fanbase gets up for key football games, too, even if it’s not as loud or intimidating as most SEC stadiums.
Only Vanderbilt's 35,000-seat FirstBank Stadium ranked lower thank Kroger Field, but the SEC is loaded with traditional college football powerhouses and equally traditional stadiums. In fact, Kentucky's home is the newest stadium in the conference.
Winning changes everything, and if Will Stein can take the Wildcats to the top of the mountain, then Kroger Field will become more revered. Until then, it remains an upward battle.
