Tony Finau produced two solid rounds to make the cut at the Rocket Classic this week.
Finau posted a 68 on Thursday and followed that up with a 67 on Friday at the Detroit Golf Club.
The 36-year-old has really struggled on the PGA Tour this season, so a pair of really solid rounds of golf will have done his confidence the world of good.

However, he will be hoping to change all of that this weekend at the Rocket Classic , as he enters the third round just five shots adrift of the lead.
He’s well placed after two rounds, but his lack of consistency this season will undoubtedly be on his mind heading into the weekend.
Tony Finau admits what is ‘crazy’ about golf after making the cut at the Rocket Classic
Finau spoke to reporters after his second round in Detroit on Friday.
The 36-year-old was asked what he has been happiest about this season, in spite of his obvious struggles.
“ Yeah, at the moment I’m just happy to play two more rounds, so yes, “ Finau replied.

“ A lot of learning, that’s the crazy thing about this game. It’s a humbling game no matter what level you play it at. A lot of learning.
“ Continue to learn about myself and my game even in my 12th season. That’s kind of what I feel like I’ve taken out of this year. “
Finau has undoubtedly struggled with his game this season, but he’ll be hoping to finish strong and force his way inside the top 70 on the FedEx Cup points list before the playoffs.
Tony Finau admits to regularly checking FedEx Cup standings
The six-time PGA Tour winner is currently sitting in 87th spot in the FedEx Cup standings, and he is ranked 130th in the world.
Finau was asked whether he is aware of his current standing.
“ Yeah, I check it pretty much every tournament just kind of see where I’m at even on off weeks, “ he replied.
“ At the end of the day, no matter where you are, if you play good golf, you’re going to get — you’re going to run through the FedExCup Playoffs. That’s been my experience.
“ You can’t be too focused on where you are, but I do like knowing though. I do like knowing where I’m at especially in the situation that I’m in.
“ I’ve got to have two really good weeks to make it to the Playoffs. That’s my goal I’m setting my sights on. “
