The former Colorado State player was picked in the second round by the Utah Jazz in the 2025 draft. He played in the G League for the Jazz before being involved in a 2025-26 midseason trade to the Celtics.
He then made his NBA debut with the Celtics, where he appeared in six games.
Tonje has now signed a two-way contract with the Portland Trail Blazers , meaning he will compete for a spot on the NBA roster but also can be moved back and forth to the G League.
The 6-foot-4 guard played in six games for the Celtics, averaging 2.5 points per game. He finished the regular season strong, recording a career-high 13 points on April 12 in a win over Orlando. In the G League last season, Tonje averaged 18.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 35% from 3-point range.
He played 2019-23 at CSU before spending time at Missouri and Wisconsin and he was drafted as a Badger by the Jazz.
