Noa Lang looks set to leave Napoli in the coming weeks, a year after joining the club from PSV for 28 million euros.
Lang struggled to impress under Antonio Conte, and went out on loan to Galatasaray in Turkiye. His form improved there, earning him a place in Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman’s World Cup squad. That said, his stay at the Turkish giants wasn’t extended.
After Conte’s departure at the season’s end, Lang found minutes under new manager Massimiliano Allegri. However, it appears that Napoli are still open to a departure. AS Roma were reportedly interested in a transfer, yet an unconvinced Gian Piero Gasperini pulled out.
Right now, Gli Azzurri are weighing up an initial loan for Lang, provided that a purchase option is added upon performance-based permutations. In any case, the winger’s transfer value is currently set at a reported 25 million euros.
Lang may not be the only former Eredivisie star to leave Naples, as the club are ready to listen to offers for David Neres. The Italians need funds and see the Brazilian as a good sale before they build for another Serie A-chasing campaign.
