Pirates catcher Endy Rodríguez underwent surgery to repair the labrum in his left hip on Wednesday and is expected to resume baseball activities in 7-9 months. The procedure was performed by Dr. Thomas Byrd.

It's another major setback for Rodríguez, who previously underwent a pair of elbow surgeries that cost him the entire 2024 season and most of 2025.
Rodríguez's latest injury puts an end to a promising season. The 26-year-old totaled 45 games with the Pirates in the year after he was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on May 12.
