The U.S. advanced to the Round of 16 in the World Cup in early July before a 4-1 blowout loss to Belgium, and the Americans will be restarting another cycle with head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who signed a new contract this week to stay on the sideline through the 2030 World Cup.
The U.S. played its coldest match in Minnesota in February 2022 during a 3-0 win over Honduras in a World Cup qualifier. The temperature at kickoff was 2 degrees, with a windchill around minus-12. A few Honduran players left the match, claiming hypothermia.
The U.S. is 3-0-0 at Allianz Field, with a 4-0 win over Guyana in 2019 and a 4-0 victory against Oman in 2023.
The Americans’ upcoming visit this fall is part of an international window from Sept. 21 to Oct. 6.
