The Dodgers traded May at last season’s deadline, sending him to the Boston Red Sox for the remainder of the season before he elected free agency at the end of the year. Since signing with the Cardinals in the offseason , May has been a solid rotation arm—especially as of late.
In his last two starts, May has only allowed one earned run through 11 innings pitched. Just over a month ago, he threw his first complete game shutout.
On the year, May has made 21 starts and has a 4.38 ERA, striking out 106 batters in 109 innings. The Brewers also acquired reliever JoJo Romero in the trade, and are clearly gearing up for a playoff run following their disappointing loss in last year’s NLCS.

Who Did the Dodgers Trade Dustin May For Last Year?
May had a disappointing 19 appearances for the Dodgers last season, posting. 4.85 ERA through 104 innings pitched. They sent him to Boston in exchange for Zach Ehrhard and James Tibbs III, both of whom rank as Top 15 prospects in the organization according to MLB.
Tibbs, 23, has been stellar in Triple-A this season, posting ridiculous numbers through 100 games. He has a .288/.409/.539 slash line, hitting 21 homers and driving in 75 runs. The former first-round pick currently ranks as the No. 89 prospect in baseball.
