There were several top performers across the state in girls high school sports , but only one can be voted as the Clarion Ledger athlete of the week for Aug. 17-22.
Fans may vote in the poll BELOW one time per hour per device. The poll closes at noon on Friday.

Nominations
Kristen Bailey, Brandon: Bailey recorded a total 34 kills and 20 blocks in Brandon's four matches.
Kate Denman, Lewisburg: Denman recorded 66 kills and 22 digs during Lewisburg's eight matches played.
Emerson Dorr, Madison-Ridgeland Academy: Dorr produced 14 aces, 97 kills and 45 digs through three days and seven matches played.
Malorie King, George County: King played in eight matches totaling 150 kills, 124 digs and 34 aces in three days.
Lylah Menefee, Presbyterian Christian: Menefee recorded 52 kills, 21 digs and seven aces in Presbyterian Christian's three matches.
