The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could finally get their first preseason look at Benjamin Morrison before turning their attention to the regular season.
Head coach Todd Bowles said Morrison looked good enough in practice to potentially see the field Friday, although the Bucs have not made a final decision on his status.
"He looked okay in practice. We're going to talk about the guys who are going to play tonight, so it will be interesting to see," Bowles said via Buccaneers.com. "I'd like to see him out there and [see him] get some snaps in because he hasn't played all preseason, but we'll see."
Morrison has yet to appear in a preseason game this year, making Friday's finale an opportunity to get him some live reps before Tampa Bay begins preparing for Week 1.
There is also plenty happening at cornerback behind him. Ayden Garnes and Damarion Williams have taken advantage of their preseason opportunities, adding another layer to the competition in the secondary.
The Bucs certainly don't need to push Morrison into extended action in the preseason finale. Still, even a limited workload could give him a chance to knock off some rust and get back into a game setting before the regular season arrives.
