See the full story · 1 sourcesRecruiting in the 2027 class hasn't quite been up to standard for Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide , but on Sunday afternoon, they landed one of the biggest prospects on their board in the 2028 class.
4-star edge rusher Tysir Young announced his commitment to Alabama, choosing the Crimson Tide over the Ohio State Buckeyes , Georgia Bulldogs , and Oregon Ducks . Young is rated as the No. 105 player in the 2028 class, per the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 13 EDGE in the nation.
Young stands at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, and is now the third edge rusher to join Alabama's class, alongside Tyler Younger and Jeremiah Beverley. Alabama's 2028 class is now up to 7 players, and is rated No. 1 in the nation.
While the Crimson Tide are doing well in the 2028 class, they are not reaching the normal standard so far in 2027. They currently have the No. 42 class in the nation, headlined by 5-star QB Elijah Haven, one of the top recruits in the nation.
We will see what more they can add over the next few months before signing day in December, but at the moment, Alabama fans can at least feel great about the talent they are adding in the 2028 class, if nothing else.
