See the full story · 1 sourcesThe San Francisco 49ers , like most teams across the NFL, have started their training camp sessions ahead of the 2026 season, and while their players have decided to continue playing, others around the league are calling it a career.
Among those who have decided to retire is former 49ers linebacker Nick Bellore, who landed on the Washington Commanders ' reserve/retired list on Monday.
Bellore played at Central Michigan from 2007-10, earning All-MAC honors twice. He went undrafted in 2011 before spending four years with the New York Jets. After that, he spent two seasons with the 49ers, appearing in 30 games and recording 100 tackles, five passes defensed, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, one sack and one interceptions.
Since then, Bellore has had stints with the Detroit Lions , Seattle Seahawks (where he made two Pro Bowls) and Commanders.
