Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell are easily among the top players in the Fever franchise right now. Plus, with the new CBA proposal these players and their teammates are all seeing a lot more money than they did before. This is a great thing for the players, but it also means that the franchises will be investing way more in their ballers when compared to the post.

This has changed up the perspectives in the league, money-wise. After reports that Boston will be soon returning to the Unrivaled league in its third season next year, Scott Agness could not help but worry for the franchise owners who have to accept the fact that the players they invest so much in will be also putting their bodies through pressure by taking part in other leagues.

“Now that someone like Boston is making seven figures, she’s making a million dollars. Kelsey Mitchell’s making 1.5 million. Are we still going to see those players not only go to Unrivaled and promote them, but play in it? I’d have a real issue with that if I’m WNBA owners paying out those big contracts. Because you’re paying them more, and you absorb that risk as well…” Scott Agness said in an episode of his ‘Fieldhouse Files’.

While Aliyah Boston is for sure returning to the Unrivaled League for one more reason, Kelsey Mitchel will not be playing next year. Mitchell has instead signed with Project B, which is scheduled to have its inaugural season soon enough.

Aliyah Boston’s Salary Might Reduce Spending Space In Fever

Aliyah Boston is already on an EPIC contract with the Fever franchise and will be getting paid the big bucks from Indiana for a fixed period of time. Meanwhile, her teammate Caitlin Clark too will become eligible for the same contract next year and is bound to land this juicy deal. At the same time, Kelsey Mitchell is also expected to land a bigger contract with the franchise, considering just how much she has been contributing to the team.

However, this also means that Indiana’s overall cap space will become much smaller. Even though the cap space will increase by about 13% when compared to this year’s numbers, Indiana will still be shelling out a major chunk of their money on their top-three players. This means that the management will have to soon make a very difficult decision regarding their other players, while also applying plenty of pressure on the existing roster to bring home the trophy.
