See the full story · 1 sourcesShane Steichen was very pleased with what he saw from Daniel Jones during the Indianapolis Colts' first practice on Wednesday.
"I thought he looked really good," Steichen said after Day 1.
On Day 2 of training camp, Jones continued to build upon that initial performance.
Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan wrote that Jones was "very sharp" to begin Thursday's practice, starting the day 5-for-5. He was perfect during the 7-on-7 period as well.
Jake Arthur of Roundtable Sports noted that after Charvarius Ward and Sauce Gardner generated some pass breakups on Wednesday, Jones didn't shy away from either defender on Day 2, and completed "successful 10-plus-yard dig routes."
Jones finished Thursday completing 7-of-9 passes, although he did throw an interception. The Indy Star's Joel Erickson pointed out that "most" of Jones' completions have gone to tight ends and running backs.
To go along with Jones' production through the air in this practice, Noah Compton of Horseshoe Huddle wrote that Jones has also had a "promising return" as it pertains to his ability on the move outside of the pocket.
