Texas running back Jonathan Brooks is heading into his third season in the NFL, but due to setbacks in both his rookie and second seasons in the league, the former Longhorns standout has yet to participate in the Carolina Panthers’ training camp. However, that’s reportedly now changed, according to Brooks’ recent health updates.
“Since I first got here, you know, I came in with an injury and he helped me. He took me under his wing and really guided me how to rehab, how to practice, all of that. And then, especially when I got hurt again. He was right there with me. He helped me throughout the whole way,” Brooks told reporters after practice this week.

Brooks’ injury journey in recent years begins in his final season as a Longhorn, when he suffered his first knee injury prior to being taken in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Then, during Brooks’ rookie season in 2024, he, again, suffered a non-contact knee injury while going through drills with the Panthers that year.
The second injury forced Brooks to rehab his knee through the entirety of the 2025 NFL season.
