See the full story · 1 sourcesConsidering all of the injuries the Carolina Panthers have already faced this offseason, "camp back" doesn't feel like the worst setback to deal with.
For a second straight practice, both right guard Robert Hunt and cornerback Mike Jackson were sidelined with back tightness. But their outlooks appear positive, according to head coach Dave Canales.
"All good stuff," he told reporters of their progress. "Rob's trending in the right direction, and he should be back pretty quickly. Mike, too. Mike had a really good day running out there. They were able to treat him up, and didn't look like anything significant.
"'Camp back' is what they call it. You get in, it's the first time you're competing, you're going against each other. And fortunately for us, we have this bonus week. With the Hall of Fame game, where a lot of the things that end up popping up early in on camp happening's for us about a week earlier. So we can get ahead of it, we can get a treatment plan and then we can dose 'em the right way and get 'em out there."
Hunt and Jackson, however, weren't alone.
Rookie wide receiver Chris Brazzell II was also kept out this morning with what Canales described as "a little knee soreness."
"Just something that we're being aware of, and we're gonna get him some treatment and get him out there as soon as possible," he added.
Brazzell, the team's third-round pick from the 2026 draft, stood out during organized team activities and mandatory minicamp in the spring. Given Canales' comments from Friday on his blend of size and speed, Brazzell is trending towards becoming a key presence within the passing attack.
