England sprinter Amy Hunt secured the silver medal in the women's 100m final with a time of 10.98. New Zealand's Zoe Hobbs took the victory with an area record of 10.93, while Australian Torrie Lewis took bronze with a national record of 10.99.Imani Lansiquot, the other Englishwoman in the final, finished just outside the medals in fourth with a time of 11.02.“I think gold was definitely there for the taking,” admitted Hunt.“I beat Zoe in the semis and she’s an incredible athlete. "Obviously she ran a PB to win, so all the credit to her.“I think I had a really terrible first 60 metres - I think it just shows the calibre of my top end speed that I could kind of dig myself out of the hole there.“Being so strong head-to-head is something I really pride myself on. I’ve now got every senior major championship covered with a medal, whether that’s in the relay or individually, so I’m really proud of those achievements.”
