And Jackson Koivun has already won a PGA Tour event, after he triumphed at the 3M Open last week in what was only his third start as a professional.

Xander Schauffele knows that Koivun’s arrival on the scene has made his task of winning even harder.
Koivun is already being tipped to make the US Presidents Cup team and in truth, it would be a surprise if he wasn’t selected by Brandt Snedeker in September.

Schauffele addressed the media in Detroit on Tuesday ahead of the Rocket Classic this week.
And he responded when asked what he made of Jackson Koivun’s win on Sunday at TPC Twin Cities.
“ Yeah, was able to meet Jackson in Florida. He was out playing with JT and a few guys at a course and I kind of ran into him, “ Schauffele said.
“ He was really polite. Met him once, watched him play on TV. He’s obviously a world-beater.

“ These kids coming out are not afraid at all. I think that’s sort of what his win showed is he’s won in college, all these young amateurs, now young pros, they look like mini Tour pros to me coming out.
“ I think of when I was in college and what that looked like and it did not look like that. It’s super-impressive.
“ It’s really good for the game, it’s really good for our tour to have as many Jackson-like players as we can get. It makes me want to work even harder, so congrats to him. “
What Scottie Scheffler said about Jackson Koivun after the 3M Open
World number one Scottie Scheffler spoke very highly indeed of Koivun after the 21-year-old pipped him to the 3M Open title.
He was asked what he made of the way that Koivun made winning his first ever PGA Tour title look so simple.
“ I feel like we’re seeing a lot of really, really good young talent in the game today, “ Scheffler said.
“ When you see the guys come out of college, they’re really, really prepared, even more prepared than we were coming out years ago.
“ I think anytime you’re trying to win for the first time, it’s awfully difficult, especially for a young guy coming out of college.
“ I think that shows not only how talented of a player he is, but I think the mental strength he has as well. “
