It seemed like Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Beck was more nervous during the postgame conference than during their preseason game against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday.
His voice cracked several times as he was talking about his preseason debut. While the Cardinals lost to the Panthers, 33-30, in the Hall of Fame Game at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, Beck performed well in the nail-biting contest .
The rookie signal-caller went 15-of-19 for 188 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions, showing glimpses of what he can do with sufficient minutes.

Despite their defeat, even a giant eraser could not wipe the smile off Beck’s face. He looked relieved now that his first test is done. He admitted that he was overly excited to step on the gridiron again.
“Shoot, from the time you cross the white lines and you’re out there on the first play, I was ready to roll,” said the No. 65 pick in the video posted by PHNX Cardinals.
“Since last night, when I was lying in bed, I could barely sleep. I was just thinking about having an opportunity to play football again. Never taking it for granted.”

The 24-year-old Beck added that he has embraced a different perspective after he was sidelined by an elbow injury for eight months in 2025.
“Ever since I had the injury, the surgery, and had to get my UCL repaired and everything, I’m having gratitude for the game and every opportunity that I get. It’s just something I’ve really found faith in,” shared the two-time national champion.
Beck, who led Miami to the title game in January, will likely play behind Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew II.
The Cardinals will face the Las Vegas Raiders in their preseason clash on Thursday.
