The stars of "Furious" break down the season's epic finale and the twists no one saw coming. Catch every episode now streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. Hulu Liz Meriwether will be hiding in her house for the next few days, in case you were looking for her.
The "Furious" creator/writer/executive producer knows that fans are extremely invested in the story and characters, including a fellow writer who messaged Meriwether before the finale dropped!
"She was like, 'does Nora die? Because if Nora dies I'm going to track you down and do something to you.' And I was like I don't want to spoil it for you but like just so you know, she doesn't die,'" Meriwether recalled to On The Red Carpet. "I was really worried!"
"It has been an incredible ride and I'm hoping that the end, like, sticks the landing for people," she told On The Red Carpet.

The show follows FBI agent Alice, played by Emmy Rossum, as she tracks down a serial killer named Catherine, played by Lola Petticrew. As the series unfolded, you found out the "why" part of her spree: to hurt those who had a hand in trafficking and assaulting her and to also find out who killed her best friend, Isabel. It's all led her back to the home of billionaire Jay Easton, who's at the center of the trafficking investigation, with Alice on her tail.
Catherine confronts Jay Easton's daughter Emma, who claims she is a victim in all of this as well (as she is attempting to get rid of hard drives filled with evidence) in the greenhouse. After a tense exchange Catherine runs into the house and that's when Alice makes her move to Catherine. She yells for Catherine to keep remembering things and talking to her.
Catherine accuses Alice of sending her to the Easton house because she wanted her to kill Jay. Alice says they can't decide someone's punishment and Catherine says she didn't get to decide anything about her life and what was done to her.
Nora, Danny and plenty of backup are waiting outside the house.
They then have a powerful exchange, where Catherine talks about killing someone and right before they die, "you're not scared at all" and at that moment she has all the power in the world. She then tells Alice, "I want you to feel it."
"Lola Petticrew is a force and a joy to act opposite," Rossum told On The Red Carpet. "I think Alice is being confronted with the explosive nature of Catherine's rage and having to contend with how much of her own she has kept kind of white-knuckle suppressed for so long. And there's a tenderness when she cuffs Catherine, wishing she didn't have to, because there is a sisterhood there."
"And then I think the decision that she makes is one that's not premeditated. I think it is full of both childish vengeance and also adult female power," she continued.
That decision is to kill Jay Easton herself. We first see her go up to his room, where he wakes up and recognizes her from her video (which we saw in episode 7 was her having sex as a teen), saying it's one of his favorites before he begins to gasp for air. What we find out later is that Alice stood on the tubes to cut off his oxygen supply.
Alice and Danny meet on a beach, where he gives her the hard drive that includes that video of her.
"I just thought Liz did an incredible job at the nuances that she's written in there and it's a beautiful part of when Danny just wants to essentially give her the hard drive back to say like, 'look you are in control of this. I'm not gonna tell you what to do.' But I think that there's a lot more under, that the audience knows about something that she has done before," said McNairy.
Alice gives that hard drive to Nora, played by Quincy Tyler Bernstine, and tells her she is on it, explaining she never saw it. Nora convinces her to face her past if she's going to continue doing this job. She watches it and finally cries.
Nora and Ed are in the elevator, where she infers that Alice is now in possession of the hard drive that he had been trying to get his hands on to protect Jay Easton and it could very well come back to bite him.
Bernstine said the scene is one of her favorites.
"I love all the scenes in the elevator because you're in this confined space and so i love the pressure that puts on the scene," she said. "To finally have the key to Ed's demise, it was quite fun to play. Hopefully we will get him next season."
Last week, Hulu announced they ordered a second season and the team is already hard at work.
"We are like three weeks into the writer's room already. So yeah, not only have I started the thought process, we're deep in it. I can't tell you anything because I haven't decided anything! But yes, we're thinking about it a lot," she said.
The first season of "Furious" is streaming now on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
