See the full story · 1 sourcesThe Pittsburgh Steelers may have one of the most complete running back rooms in the league, but Travis Homer , one of the team's many offseason additions, has been completely underestimated heading into training camp.
From now until the start of the regular season, we at Steelers Wire will be analyzing every player on the roster. Here's a look at Homer and what could be in store for his 2026 season.
At a glance
Height: 5-foot-10

Career with the Steelers
Homer, who previously played four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks (2019-2022) and three with the Chicago Bears , signed with the Steelers on a one-year, $1.3 million contract in March 2026. Homer tends to fly under the radar when looking strictly at rushing numbers, but his value for Pittsburgh this upcoming season goes well beyond that.
What's next in 2026?
Homer is arguably one of the best special teamers the Steelers have at their disposal in 2026. Having recorded 46 special teams tackles, including one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and one special teams touchdown, Homer also offers versatility as a return specialist. His pass protection is also a selling point, and he could very easily earn a roster spot over Kaleb Johnson or Eli Heidenreich, depending on how training camp plays out.
