Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in 2024, reached new heights in his first season under head coach Ben Johnson in 2025. Now, he's looking to continue that positive momentum into the Bears' 2026 season.
Williams is feeling good physically heading into Chicago's upcoming campaign. On Wednesday, he revealed that he dropped 10-15 pounds this offseason.
"I lost some weight. So that's good. I'm excited about that," Williams told reporters. "To be able to move a bit better, to be smoother."
Williams said he accomplished this weight loss with improved sleeping and eating habits.
After leading the Bears to a 5-12 record in his rookie season, Williams improved his starting QB record to 11-6 in 2025. The 24-year-old signal caller completed 58.1% of his pass attempts for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions, while also rushing for 388 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
The Bears made it past the wild card round of the playoffs, taking down the arch-rival Green Bay Packers with a 31-27 final score. Williams and his squad ultimately fell to the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round.
Chicago will open up its 2026 regular-season campaign with a Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 13.
